Help! My Crown Came Off!

repair broken dental crown Lone Tree

You are chewing an apple and hear an odd sound. Then something in your mouth feels wrong. One of your dental crowns has come off! Call us at Almeida & Bell in Lone Tree right away: chances are, the crown can be re-cemented.

It’s important that you take the following steps:

Don’t Swallow It!
This may seem like a no-brainer, but trust us – it has happened. If you accidentally swallow it, you will have some extra troubles that aren’t pleasant.

Look Carefully
Carefully take the crown out of your mouth. Inspect it, and inspect your tooth too. If there is damage to either, we will need that information. Which brings us to number 3:

Call Almeida & Bell General, Cosmetic, & Sedation Dentistry
We will schedule you an appointment right away. We’ll also guide you on whether you should use temporary cement to re-attach the crown until you can get to our office and have it permanently re-cemented.

Clean Gently
Use a toothbrush to closely clean the crown and the vulnerable partial tooth.

Handle With Care
While waiting for the crown to be re-cemented, don’t eat anything that is chewy, sticky, or crunchy.
